Sporting Anthems

Be it when sport is played or now in these unprecedented times training alone, there are some great musical songs and themes out there that can inspire you or a pump up song whilst training to train harder or are played at sporting events either before, during or after a game or event.
Let’s take a look at a few of my favourites which maybe yours as well or you may have even have others not listed here that you consider is a sporting anthem.

  1. A song performed by Queen and played usually after championships or premierships are won.

1. An inspiration song whilst training hard. A song performed by Aussie music legend Jimmy Barnes.

  1. This song was used in the movie Rocky III as part of training sequence and performed by Survivor

Originally used by the Rugby League competition in 1990 and again now 30 years later is the song performed by Tina Turner

A classic 80’s song from Europe with the big hair and big sounds.

These are just a few of the songs I think are sporting anthems or training songs or when you hear them, you instantly remember back to a particular sporting event. What are some of your favourite training and sporting songs? Did they make the list above?

  1. The Sheriff

Muse is my favourite band and Channel 9 low key uses them ALL the time before ad breaks on the NRL coverage. I bet you’ve all heard Muse songs without even realising. Dead Star is one of my faves.

Good choice there Sheriff, Muse are a hit for any sport that want to promote it.

  2. Richard Cranium

We Can’t Be Beaten by Rose Tattoo. And not really a sporting anthem, but found Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen and In Bloom by Nirvana would pump me up before a game.
